Don’t Sweat the Techie Stuff with ESEI as Your IT Service Provider

Summer is around the corner and here in the southwest temperatures average 98 degrees during the month of June. Believe it or not, your computer equipment feels it too! Especially your servers if you have them stored inside a closed room in your office building. It is recommended that any room where server and network equipment are stored should be kept at no more than 82 degrees. Reaching high temperatures cause servers to overheat and ultimately electronics to fail and shutdown.

Ideally, the server environment should be around 70 degrees. If you don’t have a way to cool the room where your servers are, it’s recommended that there should at least be some airflow. That can easily be achieved by opening the door and running a fan to circulate air.

Also, remember to stay hydrated while working. Being properly hydrated is associated with better mental performance and cognition… and prevents you from falling asleep.

If you have any questions about how to set up your server rooms, don’t hesitate to give us a call at (915) 587-7902. We would be happy to help.
